Jo McLaughlin is a London-based art historian, curator, writer, and presenter. She is known for her engaging work on a wide range of art historical topics, from the iconic masterpieces of the Renaissance to the groundbreaking contemporary artists shaping the art world today. Jo is also the creator and presenter of the globally popular Jo’s Art History Podcast, which is ranked in the iTunes top 20.

​In 2024, the podcast was shortlisted in the Arts & Culture category at the Independent Podcast Awards. ​

Originally from Scotland, Jo studied Art History at the University of Glasgow and Art Business at Kingston University, London. With over a decade of experience working with museums, galleries, archives, and artists, Jo brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her work.​

 

Currently, Jo serves as Lead Curator at Acrylicize, a global creative art and design studio with offices in East London and NYC. She collaborates with artists worldwide to commission and curate stunning art collections that are both meaningful and accessible, with a focus on bringing art into everyday life outside the gallery. Jo’s recent curatorial projects include the 2022/2023 art collection for Old Session House, a private members club in Farringdon, London, which was shortlisted for a Dezeen award in 2024, and the 2023 Wembley Park Spring Public Art Trail. She also curated Petticoat Tales, a public exhibition celebrating the work of fashion and photography students from The London Metropolitan University.​

 

In addition to her work at Acrylicize, Jo curated Art on a Postcard's 2024 International Women's Day Auction and has given numerous public talks on art history. 

 

2025 sees the release of season 4 of Jo's Art History Podcast. ​
